Who was Pir Maulana, and why did the author of the Satcharitra fail to meet him?

๐Ÿ“– Chapter 21

As narrated in Chapter 21, Pir Maulana was a famous Siddha who lived in the city of Bandra. He was highly revered, and people of various faiths, including Hindus and Parsis, would go for his 'pure vision.' The author, who was the Magistrate of that city at the time, was repeatedly urged by Pir Maulana's servant, Inus, to visit him. However, the author confesses that he never went. He attributes this failure to his own pride and ill-luck, thinking he would lose prestige if he were pressured into going. This story serves as a personal testament to the chapter's theme that one cannot see a Saint without the dawn of good fortune.
