Who was Pir Maulana, and what was the author's relationship with him as described in Chapter 21?

📖 Chapter 21

As described in Chapter 21, Pir Maulana was a famous Siddha residing in the city of Bandra. He was highly revered, attracting Hindus, Parsis, and other wise people who would go for his "pure vision." The author, who was the Magistrate of that city at the time, ironically never met him. The chapter narrates how Pir Maulana's servant, Inus, persistently followed the author, urging him to visit the saint. However, due to pride and what the author calls "ill-luck," he refused to go, demonstrating the chapter's point that one cannot see a saint, even if near, without grace.
