Who was Pir Maulana, and what was the author's interaction with him as described in Chapter 21?

📖 Chapter 21

As narrated in Chapter 21 of the Sai Satcharitra, Pir Maulana was a famous Siddha, or perfected being, who resided in the city of Bandra. He was highly revered, and people from various faiths, including Hindus and Parsis, would seek his 'pure vision.' At that time, the author of the Satcharitra was the Magistrate of Bandra. The Siddha's servant, named Inus, persistently urged the author to visit Pir Maulana. However, the author, thinking it was beneath his prestige to be pressured into visiting, refused to go. He later recognized this reluctance as a sign of his own ill-luck, a story he uses to illustrate the principle that one needs grace to encounter saints.
