Who was Laxmichand as introduced in Chapter 28, and what does his story signify?

📖 Chapter 28

As detailed in Chapter 28, Laxmichand was a very trustworthy and obedient clerk, or munshi, working for the Ralli Brothers, who were Greek merchants with a shop in Mumbai. Before this, he had worked in the railways department and at the Venkatesh Printing Press. His story is introduced to exemplify one of Sai Baba's divine plays. The chapter describes Laxmichand as one of Baba's "pious chicks" who was drawn to Shirdi from a distant city, illustrating Baba's teaching that he would bring his devotees to him no matter how far away they were.
