Damodar Savlaram, or Damu Shet Kasar, was a devotee who was deeply saddened by the fact that he had no son from either of his two wives. Chapter 0 explains that he sought Maharaj's blessing at the suggestion of Govindrao Sapkar. After Maharaj's blessing led to the birth of a son, Damu Shet's faith was irrevocably fixed. Out of immense gratitude, he took a vow to bring a new flag to the Ram Navami fair each year and to feed all the Fakirs gathered there that day. The text notes that his vow was still being honored.
Who was Damu Shet Kasar, and what motivated him to establish a tradition at the Ram Navami fair?
