Who was Damu Anna and what was his specific contribution to the Ram Navami festival in Shirdi?

Damu Anna was a wealthy bronze-smith (Kasar) from Ahmednagar and a devoted follower of Sai Baba. As described in Chapter 25, his significant contribution to the annual Ram Navami festival was providing one of the two large new flags that were taken out in a procession through Shirdi village. This was a regular vow he had maintained for many years out of uninterrupted love and devotion.
