Chand Patil was a fortunate Muslim man from the village of Dhup in the Aurangabad district. As described in Chapter 5, he was in distress after losing his mare for two months. While traveling back from Aurangabad, disappointed, he encountered a Fakir, who was Sai Baba. The Fakir called him over to rest and smoke a chillum. Upon learning Patil was grieving for his lost horse, the Fakir told him exactly where to find it near a stream. This miraculous guidance made Chand Patil realize he had met a great saint, or 'Avaliya'.
Who was Chand Patil and what was his first interaction with Sai Baba?
