Who was Chand Patil and how did he first encounter the man who would be known as Sai Baba?

📖 Chapter 5

Chand Patil was a fortunate Muslim man and the village head of Dhup in the Aurangabad district. His first encounter with Sai Baba occurred after he had lost his mare and was searching for her for two months. As Chapter 5 recounts, while returning disappointed from Aurangabad with the saddle on his back, he came across a Fakir sitting under a mango tree. This Fakir, who was Baba, was wearing a kafni and a cap, holding a short stick (satka), and preparing a chillum. Baba called out to Patil, inviting him to rest and smoke, which marked the beginning of their significant interaction.
