Who was Chand Patil and how did he first encounter Sai Baba?

Chand Patil was a fortunate Muslim man and the village head of Dhup village, located in the Aurangabad district. The story of his first meeting with Sai Baba is detailed in Chapter 5 of the Shri Sai Satcharitra. Patil had lost his mare and was searching for her for two months. While traveling back from Aurangabad, feeling disappointed, he came across a Fakir under a mango tree. This Fakir, who was Baba, was described as wearing a cap and a kafni, and was preparing a chillum. He called out to Patil, inviting him to rest and smoke, which marked the beginning of their association.
