Who was Balaram Dhurandhar and what was his connection to Sai Baba?

Balaram Dhurandhar was a distinguished devotee from a pious family in Santa Cruz. Born in 1878, he was a well-educated man, an Advocate by profession, and a scholar of philosophy. Chapter 51 describes him as having a great liking for the spiritual path, with Vithala as his chosen deity. He was also a 'supreme devotee of Sai.' He became an expert in spiritual texts like the Bhagavad Gita and Dnyaneshwari after a life of intense social service. His connection to Baba was profound, as evidenced by his family's visit to Shirdi in April 1912, where they were amazed by Baba's foreknowledge of their arrival. Balaram merged into Brahman in June 1925 at a young age.
