Who is Laxmichand, and how is his story introduced in Chapter 28 as an example of Sai Baba's 'divine plays'?

📖 Chapter 28

Chapter 28 introduces Laxmichand as a trustworthy and obedient munshi (clerk) working for the Ralli Brothers, a firm of Greek merchants in Mumbai. He had previously worked in the railways and at a printing press. His story is presented as a prime example of Sai Baba's divine plays and his promise to draw his devotees to him. The chapter describes Laxmichand as one of the 'pious chicks' that Baba brought to Shirdi, comparing his arrival to a sparrow's chick being pulled by a string tied to its feet, no matter how far away it is. His meeting with Sai is attributed to the rising of accumulated karma from many past births.
