Chapter 37 explains that the person who is constantly followed by the sufferings of birth and death is the one who holds even the slightest view of difference or duality. This perception of manifoldness is established by ignorance (Avidya), which is its root cause. The text warns that as long as this dualistic view remains, destruction and creation will follow that individual. To escape this cycle, one must acquire the science of the oneness of Brahman and the Self through the Guru and scriptures, which removes the knowledge of manifoldness and ceases the cycle of birth and death.
