According to Chapter 5, before taking up residence in the mosque, Sai Baba lived for a long time in the Takia, which is described as a resting place for Fakirs. During his time there, he remained largely undisturbed. The text provides a wonderful description of his activities, noting that he would tie bells to his feet and dance beautifully. He would accompany his dancing with the beat of a small tambourine, known as a khanjiri, and would also sing sweetly with great love. This was before the major transformation of the mosque began around 1912.
Where did Baba live before he stayed in the mosque, and what was he like back then?
