When Dev complained that Baba broke his promise, how did Sai explain his side of the story to Jog?

When Jog presented Dev's letter of complaint at Sai's feet, Baba was surprised at Dev's failure to recognize him. As recounted in Chapter 40, Baba stated that he was already aware of the letter's contents and Dev's state of mind. He responded by asking, "tell him, 'You did not recognize Me! Why then did you call Me?'" Baba affirmed that while he did not physically travel from Shirdi, he absolutely kept his word. He explained that he came in the guise of a Sanyasi, first alone and then with two others for the meal, precisely as promised. Baba emphasized the inviolability of his promise, declaring, "for the sake of My word, I would die; but the words from My mouth shall never be otherwise."
