What were the specific rituals Sai Baba performed right before leaving the Masjid for the Chavadi?

Just before departing the Masjid for the Chavadi procession, Sai Baba performed a series of specific, personal rituals as described in Chapter 37. After Tatya Patil had placed a shawl on Him, Baba would first go to a spot where a bundle of firewood was kept and touch it for a moment with His right big toe. Following this, He would approach the sacred fire (dhuni) and, in a remarkable act, personally wave His right hand over the burning flame to extinguish it. Only after completing these two distinct actions would Sai Baba set out for the Chavadi, at which point the celebratory music and fireworks would begin.
