What were the specific ritualistic actions Baba performed right before he left the Masjid for the Chavadi?

Just before setting out for the Chavadi, Sai Baba performed a couple of specific, seemingly ritualistic actions. Chapter 37 explains that after Tatya Patil had placed the golden-bordered shawl over Him, Baba would not leave immediately. Instead, He would first go to a wall where a bundle of firewood was kept. There, He would move His right big toe at that spot for a moment. Following this, He would wave His right hand over a burning flame that was there, personally extinguishing it before finally beginning His journey to the Chavadi.
