Chand Patil, the head of Dhup village, was dejectedly returning from a two-month search for his lost mare, carrying its saddle on his back. On his journey, he came upon a mango tree where he saw a Fakir wearing a cap and a kafni, holding a short stick (satka). This Fakir, who was Baba, called out to Patil, inviting him to rest and smoke a chillum. He then asked about the saddle, learned of the lost mare, and miraculously directed Patil to her location near a stream, initiating the profound connection between them.
