What were the physical conditions of the Chavadi where Amir Shakkar was instructed to stay, and why was it particularly difficult for him?

📖 Chapter 22

The Chavadi was an old, dilapidated building that was in a state of severe disrepair. According to Chapter 22, it was home to lizards and poisonous scorpions, and lepers also stayed there. The back part was filled with garbage and seventeen knee-deep holes. The environment was plagued by rain from above and dampness from below on uneven ground. These conditions were especially torturous for Amir Shakkar because he was suffering from rheumatism. The constant wind, cold, and dampness caused the joints of his body to be seized with pain, making his stay incredibly miserable.
