What were the living conditions like in the Chavadi where Amir Shakkar was instructed to stay?

📖 Chapter 22

According to Chapter 22, the Chavadi was an old, dilapidated building built by Malik Ambar that was in a state of extreme disrepair. The text describes it as a miserable place, home to lizards and poisonous scorpions, and even lepers stayed there. It was unsanitary, with garbage filling the back, seventeen knee-deep holes in the ground, and pervasive dampness from rain. The conditions were so poor that the text notes even a dog would not endure the troubles there, yet Amir Shakkar stayed on Baba's command despite his rheumatism.
