What were the key elements and atmosphere of the Chavadi procession as described in the sacred texts?

๐Ÿ“– Chapter 51

The Chavadi procession was a grand and joyous event filled with devotional fervor, as detailed in Chapter 51. The atmosphere was celebratory, marked by the sounds of horns, bugles, and trumpets, along with the rhythmic beats of cymbals and mridanga. A decorated horse named Shyam-Sundar would dance at the head of the procession. Devotees carried flags, banners, and torches, while a royal umbrella was held over Sai Baba's head. On both sides of Baba, groups of followers walked while singing devotional bhajans. This entire spectacle transformed the bi-nightly journey from the Masjid to the Chavadi into a magnificent and memorable expression of faith and love for Baba.
