According to Chapter 38, Sai Baba used two types of cooking vessels, called Handis, to prepare food for the hungry. These were not ordinary pots, as they were distinguished by their large capacity. The text describes a small Handi, which could cook enough food to satisfy fifty people. There was also a large Handi, which was even more remarkable, as it could provide a meal for a hundred people with food still being left over. After the food was cooked, Baba would have a consecration prayer (Fatya) offered before distributing the blessed food (Prasad) to Mhalasapati, Tatya, and then all the poor and weak devotees.
What were the 'Handis' that Baba used, and how many people could they feed?
