What were the challenges Cholkar faced regarding his vow, and how did Baba acknowledge them?

📖 Chapter 15

Cholkar's primary challenge was a delay in fulfilling his vow to visit Shirdi, which seems to be related to financial or worldly troubles. Chapter 15 describes that for a worldly man, the "threshold-ghat" (interpreted as home expenses) is very difficult to cross. During this period of delay, he maintained his vow by avoiding sugar completely, even drinking his tea without it. Sai Baba explicitly acknowledged these struggles when they met. He revealed His omniscience by telling Cholkar, "The state of your mind at the time of the vow, and the penance of the long delay— Though you kept these secret, all of it is known to me," confirming that He was aware of both the vow and the hardship Cholkar endured.
