What were the author's personal motivations and inner conflicts when deciding to write the Sai Satcharitra?

📖 Chapter 2

The author's motivation, as explained in Chapter 2, was a deep desire to collect Sai Baba's stories for the benefit of 'simple and loving devotees,' especially those who had not seen Baba in person. However, he was also plagued by self-doubt, which he shared with Madhavrao (Shama). Having crossed sixty years of age, he felt his intellect was not sharp and worried that the effort might fail due to his weakness. Despite these doubts, he resolved to proceed, believing the effort was for Sai’s love and that Baba himself would guide his hand, making him merely an instrument in the process.
