Before the grand procession to the Chavadi began, Sai Baba performed a few specific actions as part of His routine. Chapter 37 mentions that after getting ready with His kafni, satka, and chilim, Baba would go to a spot where a bundle of firewood was kept. There, He would move His right big toe for a moment. Following this, He would personally wave His right hand over the burning flame, extinguishing it before setting out. This personal ritual preceded the music and festivities of the procession.
