Devotees used a variety of beautiful and precious items to adorn Sai Baba, showing their deep reverence. Chapter 37 mentions several specific decorations. They placed a crown on His head and put necklaces of diamonds and pearls around His neck. Later, gold and emerald divine necklaces and strings of pearls with eight or sixteen strands were also mentioned. They drew a beautiful tilak on His forehead with saffron and also a black tilak. In addition to jewels, they hung garlands of flowers like Jai, Jui, and Tulsi that reached down to His feet and offered Him bouquets to smell.
