What were Sai Baba's personal preparations and specific actions right before He would depart the Masjid for the Chavadi?

Just before leaving the Masjid, Sai Baba followed a distinct set of actions as detailed in Chapter 37. He would be wearing His usual kafni, have His short stick (satka) tucked under His arm, and carry His tobacco and pipe (chilim). After Tatya Patil placed a golden-bordered shawl over Him, Baba would perform a sequence of unique rituals. He would go to a spot where firewood was kept, move His right big toe there for a moment, and then, most remarkably, He would personally extinguish the burning flame of a lamp with a wave of His right hand before finally setting out for the Chavadi. This sequence of personal rituals marked the final moments before the procession began.
