What were Sai Baba's habits concerning the festival of lights?

The source material from Chapter 5 indicates that Sai Samarth had a great fondness for the festival of lights. To celebrate, he would personally take a tin pot and go to the shops of grocers and oil-merchants to beg for oil. He used this oil to ensure the lamps burned brightly in both the temple and the mosque. His dedication was such that he even celebrated the Diwali festival by tearing rags to make wicks for the lamps he lit in the mosque. This daily routine of collecting oil, however, is what eventually led to the conflict with the shopkeepers and the subsequent miracle of lighting the lamps with water.
