The transformation of the Buti Wada into the Samadhi Mandir was a direct result of Sai Baba's final command. As his health failed, Bapusaheb Buti worried the mansion would be purposeless. However, as Chapter 39 explains, by a "stroke of fate and by Sai’s command," the mansion's destiny was fulfilled. Baba's last words were, "Place me in the mansion." This clear instruction resolved all uncertainty among the devotees. Following his passing, his holy body was placed in the inner sanctum, consecrating the mansion and turning it into the revered Samadhi Mandir.
