What were Sai Baba's daily habits regarding food and personal austerities? Did he practice asceticism?

๐Ÿ“– Chapter 23

According to Chapter 23, Sai Baba's lifestyle was marked by simplicity and detachment rather than severe ascetic practices. He never practiced fasting, austerities, or the difficult labors of Hatha Yoga. His approach to food clearly demonstrated his detachment; He had no craving for specific tastes and consumed only a small amount. His only food was the daily alms, or Madhukari, which he collected by going to certain houses for bread. He did not indulge his tongue or pamper his sense of taste, considering whatever was obtained, whether good or plain, to be sweet.
