What were Maharaj's daily life and healing practices like when he first arrived in the village?

When Maharaj first arrived, he lived a very simple and altruistic life. According to Chapter 0, he resided in a dilapidated Masjid, where he would stay at night after wandering during the day. He never charged money for his services. Initially, he gave out medicines to people who were ill and would even personally nurse patients who were not being cared for properly. The text notes that there were still many people in the village whom Maharaj had treated. Over time, his method evolved; he stopped administering medicine and instead began to give out Udi, or sacred ash, which people also found beneficial.
