What was the unusual treatment Sai Baba prescribed for Amir Shakkar's rheumatism?

When Amir Shakkar detailed his suffering from rheumatism and prayed for deliverance, Sai Baba gave him a very unusual remedy. As described in Chapter 22, Baba's instruction was simply for Amir to stay steadily in the Chavadi. This was a difficult prescription, as the Chavadi was a dilapidated and uncomfortable place. Despite the external conditions being contrary to healing, Amir was told to stay there for nine months.
