What was the thought process that led the family of the sick boy to travel to Shirdi?

When remedies reached their limit, relatives suggested seeking divine help. Word had reached them of a famous saint, Sai Maharaj of Shirdi, who could supposedly heal diseases just by his sight. They decided to try this "last resort," holding onto the belief that if this great Avaliya applied Udi with his own hand, even an incurable disease like their son's could be vanquished. This was seen as the only remaining path to potentially avert the calamity, prompting them to pack and head to Shirdi for Sai's darshan.
