What was the story behind the portrait of Sai Baba that was shown to H.S. Dixit at Mirikar's house?

📖 Chapter 51

The portrait of Sai Baba revealed to H.S. Dixit had a special history, as detailed in Chapter 51. It belonged to Megha, a very devoted disciple of Baba who worshipped the photograph with great love, viewing it as Lord Shankar himself. The portrait was in Ahmednagar because its glass had broken, and it had been sent from Shirdi with Balasaheb Mirikar for repairs. After being fixed, the portrait was kept covered in Mirikar’s drawing room. Once Dixit's travel plans were settled, Balasaheb entrusted the repaired portrait to Madhavrao to be taken back to Shirdi, making Dixit's first encounter with it a memorable event.
