The portrait of Sai Baba played a significant role in encouraging Kakasaheb Dixit. According to Chapter 51 of the Shri Sai Satcharita, this particular photograph was deeply revered and worshipped by Megha, one of Baba's devoted disciples. The glass on the portrait had broken, so it was sent from Shirdi to Balasaheb Mirikar in Nagar for repairs. After being fixed, it was kept covered in Mirikar's drawing room. It was unveiled to Dixit just as he and Madhavrao had finalized their plan to travel that night. Balasaheb entrusted the portrait to Madhavrao to take back to Shirdi, poetically stating that they would now travel 'in Baba's company.' Seeing this beautiful image of the one he longed to meet filled Dixit with immense joy and strengthened his resolve.
