What was the story behind Damu Shet Kasar's vow to bring a flag for the Ram Navami fair?

Damodar Savlaram, also known as Damu Shet Kasar, was deeply saddened because he had no sons from either of his two wives. As recounted in Chapter 0, he was advised by Govindrao Sapkar to come to Shirdi and seek Maharaj's blessing. Following this advice, he came to Maharaj, who gave him a blessing that resulted in the birth of a son. This miraculous event firmly established his faith in Maharaj. In gratitude, he took a vow to bring a new ceremonial flag every year for the Ram Navami fair and to feed all the Fakirs gathered on that day, a tradition that is mentioned to be still ongoing.
