What was the significance of the flags at the Ram Navami festival in Shirdi, and what was Damu Anna's role?

📖 Chapter 25

The annual Ram Navami festival in Shirdi featured a significant procession with two large, new flags. As explained in Chapter 25, this was a well-known local tradition. Damu Anna Kasar played a crucial part in this celebration. He had taken a vow, which he upheld for many years with uninterrupted love and devotion, to provide one of these two flags. The other flag was provided by the Nimonkars. The procession would start from the house of Kondaji Sutara, and accompanied by musical instruments, the flags were paraded through the village before being tied to the two ends of the Masjid. Damu Anna's participation underscores his deep and public devotion to Sai Baba.
