What was the significance of the Chavadi in Sai Baba's routine and devotional life in Shirdi?

📖 Chapter 37

The Chavadi was a place of central importance in Sai Baba's daily life. According to Chapter 37, Baba established a strict rule to sleep at the Chavadi every other day, alternating with his nights at the Masjid. This sequence of spending one night in the Masjid and the next at the Chavadi was a continuous practice that he maintained until his Mahasamadhi. The chapter also highlights a key date, December 10, 1910, from which point formal worship, bhajan, and adoration of Sai began in the Chavadi, cementing its role not just as Baba's resting place but as a hub for community devotion.
