What was the significance of Sai Baba's Dhuni in the Masjid, and what does its constant maintenance reveal about His character?

📖 Chapter 23

The Dhuni, or sacred fire, in the Masjid was a central and unwavering feature of Sai Baba's life. As described in Chapter 23, it burned twenty-four hours a day, through every season, much like the fire of an Agnihotri (fire-priest). This continuous burning reveals what the text calls a 'strange determination' on Baba's part. To fuel this perpetual flame, He would personally go to the market to buy and collect bundles of firewood, which he would then pile in the courtyard. This dedication to maintaining the Dhuni, purely for its own sake, underscores His commitment and discipline, showcasing a rhythm in His life that was fearless and invincible.
