According to the account in Chapter 28, the process began one or two months before his trip when he had a dream of a wonderful vision, seeing an old sadhu with a beard surrounded by devotees. The next key event was his attendance at a kirtan by Dasganu, who had placed a picture of Sai Baba in front. Upon seeing the picture, Laxmichand had a moment of immediate recognition; the form in the photograph was identical to the sadhu from his dream.
