What was the ritual process after the food in the Handi was cooked?

Once the food in the Handi was fully cooked, a specific ritual followed, as described in chapter 38. After testing the food, Baba would bring the pot down from the hearth and into the Masjid. He would then have a 'Fatya,' which is a consecration prayer, formally offered by a Maulvi. Following this blessing, the first portions of the 'Prasad' (blessed food) were sent to his devotees Mhalasapati and Tatya. Only then would Baba personally serve the remaining food with great love to everyone else, particularly the poor and weak, finding joy in satisfying their hunger.
