What was the reason behind Damu Shet Kasar's vow to bring a flag on Ram Navami?

Damodar Savlaram, also known as Damu Shet Kasar, was deeply unhappy because he had no children from his two wives. The narrative in Chapter 0 explains that upon the suggestion of Ra. Govindrao Sapkar, he went to seek Maharaj's blessing. Maharaj gave him a blessing which resulted in the birth of a son. This event solidified his faith in Maharaj profoundly. As an expression of his gratitude and devotion, he took a vow to bring a new flag every Ram Navami and to feed all the Fakirs gathered there on that day, a vow which he continued to uphold.
