What was the reaction of the darveshis to their tiger's death, and what guidance did Sai Baba offer them?

📖 Chapter 31

The darveshis had a complex reaction to their tiger's death. As detailed in Chapter 31, they were simultaneously sad and pleased. Their sadness stemmed from the fact that the tiger was their 'means of livelihood' and 'family's sustenance.' However, they were also pleased because they understood that the diseased creature had 'attained liberation' by dying at a saint's feet. When they asked Baba for guidance on what to do, He told them not to worry, explaining that the tiger's end was destined to happen there and that it was meritorious and had attained supreme bliss. He then gave them specific instructions to bury the tiger's body near the temple of Shankara, behind the Nandi statue, so it would attain a good end and be freed from all bondage.
