What was the Ram Navami festival in Shirdi like, and what was Damu Anna's connection to it?

As described in Chapter 25, a key event during the annual Ram Navami festival in Shirdi was a procession featuring two large, new flags. Damu Anna had a very direct and important connection to this tradition. One of the two flags belonged to him, while the other belonged to the Nimonkars. This was not a one-time event for Damu Anna; it was a regular vow that he carried out for many years with uninterrupted love and devotion. The procession would begin at the house of Kondaji Sutara, the carpenter, and proceed with musical accompaniment until the long banners were tied to the two ends of the Masjid.
