What was the purpose of Sai Baba's incarnation and eventual departure from his physical body?

Great souls, or avatars, are described as personifications of Brahman who appear for the sake of helping others, their arrival often prompted by the collective merits of devotees. The text explains that once this designated task for the devotees is completed, they do not 'die' in the conventional sense. Instead, they merge back into their true, unmanifest form. Therefore, Baba leaving his body was not a cessation but a transition signifying that his work in that specific form was over, allowing him to return to his all-pervading, beginningless and endless state.
