The process described in Chapter 28 was orchestrated by Sai Baba's divine will. It began when devotees, preparing for worship, went to the masjid and asked Baba what food offering they should bring. Baba specifically instructed them to bring a plate of khaja. After they returned with the offering and the afternoon arati was completed, Baba announced to all the gathered devotees that it was an auspicious day and he felt like having khaja. He told them to get it quickly and serve it to everyone. Consequently, two bowls full of khaja were brought and distributed, perfectly coinciding with the moment Laxmichand was feeling restless from hunger and back pain, thus satisfying both his physical need and his earlier unspoken desire.
