The preparation and distribution of food followed a distinct process, as detailed in Chapter 38. After Sai Baba personally cooked the food in large pots called Handis, He would have it brought into the Masjid. A significant step was the consecration, where He would have a Maulvi formally offer the "Fatya" prayer over the food. Following this blessing, the first portions of the "Prasad" (blessed food) were sent to His devotees Mhalasapati and Tatya. Afterward, Baba would personally serve all the remaining food with his own hands, finding great joy and contentment in satisfying the hunger of the poor and the weak, often insisting they "take, take" with affection.
