What was the original purpose of the building that is now Sai Baba's Samadhi Mandir, and how did it transform?

📖 Chapter 39

The building that became Sai Baba's Samadhi Mandir was originally the Buti Wada, a mansion constructed by Bapusaheb Buti. The initial plan, as detailed in Chapter 39, was to create a temple for Murlidhar (Lord Krishna) by breaking the side walls of the central hall and installing an idol. Bapusaheb sought Baba's permission, which was joyfully granted. Baba even stated, "After the temple is complete, we too shall come to stay there." However, as Baba's health declined near the end of his life, his final words were, "Place me in the mansion." Following this divine command, his holy body was placed in the inner sanctum, transforming the mansion intended for Murlidhar into the sacred Samadhi Mandir that it is today.
