The original plan for the Buti Wada, as conceived by Bapusaheb Buti, was to create a temple for the idol of Murlidhar, a form of Krishna. Bapusaheb wished to break the side walls of the central hall to install the idol on a throne. As described in Chapter 39, he sought Baba's permission for this plan, and Baba joyfully agreed, even stating, "After the temple is complete, we too shall come to stay there." However, as Baba's health declined, Buti became anxious about the future of the mansion. Ultimately, destiny and Sai's own command intervened. Baba's last words were, "Place me in the mansion." Following his passing, his holy body was placed in the inner sanctum, transforming the mansion intended for Murlidhar into the sacred Samadhi Mandir.
What was the original plan for the Buti Wada, and how did it change to become the Samadhi Mandir?
