What was the original plan for the building that eventually became the Samadhi Mandir, and what specific event led to this change?

📖 Chapter 39

The building that became the Samadhi Mandir was originally intended to be a temple and mansion, known as the Buti wada. According to Chapter 39, the plan conceived by Bapusaheb Buti was to construct a building with a central courtyard and an inner sanctum housing a throne for an idol of Murlidhar. The construction began with Sai Baba's full permission. However, the purpose of the structure changed dramatically due to a specific event. As Baba's health declined and his end drew near, his last words were a command: "Place me in the mansion." This final instruction from Baba himself altered the fate of the building. Instead of housing the Murlidhar idol, the inner sanctum became the final resting place for Baba's holy body, transforming the Buti wada into the revered Samadhi Mandir.
