What was the nature of the relationship between Sai Baba and Tatya Patil?

The relationship between Maharaj and Tatya Ganpati Patil Kote was exceptionally close and affectionate, resembling that of an uncle and nephew. Chapter 0 explains that Tatya lovingly called Maharaj "Mama," which means maternal uncle. This bond was deeply rooted in the service of Tatya's mother, Bayajabai, who cared for Maharaj even when others in the village considered him mad.
